Endless beaches, natural parks full of life, mountain landscapes impossible to forget, sunsets that paint the horizon …. Yes, we are talking about the province of Cadiz, but this time we encourage you to live it from another perspective: on a horse.
Those who have heard about Cadiz, know that it is a province of contrasts, so you will have infinite options when choosing a route on horseback. Therefore, the question is: Are you a sea or mountain person?
If you can’t resist the sound of the waves crashing on the beach, you have the option of a route along one of its many coast areas. The excursions along the beaches of La Barrosa, Bolonia, Valdevaqueros or Conil de la Frontera stand out.
If, on the other hand, what you are looking for is peace in the middle of nature and to disconnect, Cadiz offers various routes. Immerse yourself in nature in the Pinares de Roche or walk through the incredible Sierra de Grazalema, where you can stroll along the bank of the river Campobuche.
This privileged maritime-terrestrial area is located in the extreme south of the Iberian Peninsula. Its coasts are bathed by two seas, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean, which are divided by the Strait of Gibraltar, which separates Europe from Africa. We can find both sandy beaches and steep cliffs, a contrast that makes the visit even more unique. In addition, you can visit the dune of Bolonia, declared a Natural Monument.
The routes are done in this pine forest very close to the beach of the same town, Chiclana de la Frontera. There are different viewpoints on the cliffs that provide an incredible view of the horizon. It is a green lung for the area since it has 125 hectares of varied vegetation.
It is part of the Cordillera Bética. Castellar de la Frontera is usually the starting point of the routes. It also has several streams and even navigable waters, which make the itinerary even more attractive.
Halfway between Cadiz and Malaga, this is one of the most abrupt mountain ranges of the Andalusian geography. Time has created canyons of great beauty and numerous caves and grottoes, which are among the most visited in Andalusia. It is surprising the great variety of birds that live here, with about 136 different species. If you decide to do the route through this area, don’t forget to look up to see hundreds of creatures flying above you!
