Complete Tour in Seville

The vestige of Seville's past can be found in a tour designed for the most exquisite tastes. The Alcazar is one of the main civil buildings of the capital since the Muslim princes who built and preserved it during the Reconquest by the Christian kings. They were surprised by its winding forms inherited from the Muslim culture, so we want to introduce you to the story and let you be seduced by the rich decoration of a culture that finally brought together Islamic and Christian art by the best artists. On the other hand, the Christian kings, keeping the building of the Alcazar, would not have the same fate for the Cathedral of Seville. It would almost completely occupy the old Islamic mosque, one of the largest in the West. On this visit you will be able to see the remains of the courtyard and the minaret of the old mosque, but especially you will walk through what is, in fact, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. The cathedral is the result of a long process of construction that the Christian kings adapted to the history of the arts, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo...

Both buildings have been part of the important history of Spain, so we will introduce you to one of the most glorious periods of Islam in Spain, the Reconquest of Fernando III, the routes of Christopher Columbus, and many more that you will discover during the 3 hours that we propose in our route. We will meet at the OWAY Tours office, where we will start to talk about the Roman background that is still present at the base of the Giralda, the Islamic and Renaissance artistic decoration of the tower, and the walls of the Cathedral in the colour of almagra. From this point we will go to the main entrance of the Cathedral through a preferential access for groups that is waiting for us at the foot of the Giralda. Inside the Cathedral we will be able to discover treasures such as the tombs of numerous Christian kings, the remains of Christopher Columbus, the cathedral treasure or the most gigantic High Altarpiece in Christianity. We will be able to enjoy the views of Seville from the Giralda, one of the highest points of the old town, about 104 meters high that we will have to ascend by a system of ramps.

We concluded our visit to the Cathedral by the Patio de los Naranjos, which is also a testimony of the Islamic period. Then, we will visit the Alcazar, visiting the richest gardens and palaces of Seville. You will discover the relationship with the royalty, with the Americas and its more than 187 different plant species in its gardens. This visit will allow you to visit the most important places of the Sevillian landscape, declared by the UNESCO, World Heritage Site since 1987.
