White Villages

The Pueblos Blancos of the Sierra de Cádiz are characterised by the intense white colour of the walls of the houses that make up these small villages. On our tour you will discover the urban layout of their streets, the economy linked to the cultivation of olive trees, the production of leather crafts and their rich gastronomy. All of this is set in a stunning landscape that has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2006.

We will depart to Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most populated and extensive municipalities of the Sierra de Cadiz. Its past as the capital of the Islamic kingdom in the peninsula and of the Duchy of Arcos, will allow you to discover a landscape full of history due to its strategic location next to the river Guadalete. Dozens of high nooks and crannies will allow us to stroll through its narrow, whitewashed streets until we reach one of the most impressive viewpoints in the area, the Mirador de la Peña.

We continue to Grazalema, where the first natural park in Andalusia was established. It seems to be wedged between rocky mountains. Its labyrinthine and picturesque white cobblestone streets, its balconies and outstanding flowers, the charm of its squares, and the tasting of the typical products of the land. Here, you will have the opportunity to stroll through its streets and buy local sausages and cheeses.

The last point of our route will be Ubrique, where we will be welcomed by the ancient Roman road. It is famous for its craft stalls, of which it has received the declaration of Zone of Artisan Interest in 2013, especially for the treatment of leather. We will discover the traditional products of the area, as well as the manufacturing process. It will be in this town where we will be able to enjoy a true Andalusian lunch, where we will enjoy the extensive gastronomy of the Sierra de Cádiz.
