Nature and history, a surprising journey

The Pueblos Blancos of the Sierra de Cádiz are characterized by the intense white color impregnated on the walls of the houses that make up these small villas. On our tour you will discover the urban design of its streets, the economy linked to the cultivation of olive trees, the production of leather crafts and its rich gastronomy. All this fits in with an impressive landscape declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO since 2006.

We will depart from the Plaza Sevilla in Cadiz in the direction of Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most populated and extensive municipalities of the Cadiz Sierra. Its past as the capital of the Islamic kingdom in the peninsula and of the Duchy of Arcos, will allow you to discover a landscape full of history due to its strategic location next to the Guadalete River. Dozens of corners in height will allow us to walk through its narrow and whitewashed streets until we reach one of the most impressive viewpoints in the area, the Mirador de la Peña.

We will continue towards Grazalema, which is the first natural park constituted in Andalusia. It seems to be nestled between rocky peaks. Its labyrinthine and picturesque white cobbled streets, its balconies and outstanding flowers, the charm of its squares, and the tasting of typical products of the land. Here you will have the opportunity to stroll through its streets and buy local sausages and cheeses.

The last point of our tour will be Ubrique, where we will be welcomed by the ancient Roman road. We will walk through its historical centre where its traces show us narrow streets, picturesque corners, and beautiful squares that have been perfectly combined with fountains, of Islamic origin and baroque style. It is famous for its handicraft stalls, from which it has received the declaration of Zone of Craft Interest in 2013, especially for the treatment of skin. We will discover the traditional products of the area, as well as the manufacturing process. It will be in this town where we will be able to delight with a real country lunch, where we will enjoy the wide gastronomy of the Sierra de Cádiz.
