The tour starts at the Plaza del Triunfo, where the OWAY Tours office is located. We will then enter the courtyard of the Naranjos (know more about the courtyards of Cordoba), where, you can see the great bell tower that houses inside the wonderful minaret of the Aljama Mosque built by Abd al-Rahman III. There, the self-proclamation of Abd al-Rahman III as Caliph took place, starting the Independent Caliphate of Al-Andalus, the period of greatest cultural splendour of the city of Qurtuba.

From Monday to Saturday there are two different times to choose from: at 12.30pm or in the afternoon, which depending on the time of year will be at 5.15pm. If you prefer to visit the Mosque of Cordoba on a Sunday, the tour will be at 10.00 in the morning.

Once inside you will be really surprised along your walk between 1.300 columns that form the building. From the first building ordered build by Abd al-Rahman I in the year 786, the trip thought the time takes us until the first expansion, where took place the proclamation of Abd al- Rahman III as the first Caliph, starting the Independent Caliphate of Al- Andalus, the most splendour period of Qurtuba. Later, you will be amazed with the following expansion by Al-Hakam II, considered the most important due to is reflecting the power in splendour, and there you can also observe the amazing Mirhab.

Crossing this expansion you will enjoy the last expansion, it was built by the vizier Almansur. The last part of the visit will invite you to discover the magnificent cruise in the Cathedral, that was built from the year 1523 and it is the heart of that Islamic building. In this same moment you will be fascinated observing the great renaissance bolt that covers the cruise, but even more, when you point your view to the choir in the cathedral, with a precious mahogany wood created by the sculptor from Seville, Pedro Duque Cornejo.
