Cadiz Free Tour

Join our Free Tour in Cádiz and discover the oldest city in the West. Its Phoenician origins, the passage of Greeks and Romans, Jews, Muslims and Christians, have made the city stand out for a long history of events of which we would like you to be a part.

We will start at San Juan de Dios Square, an emblematic place in the city, located next to the City Hall with its neoclassical fronts. We will continue to the Campo Sur area, where we will enjoy the best views of the new area of Cadiz, its beaches and the ocean, thanks to the elevation of the promenade. We will emphasize of this zone the set of buildings of shrieking colors that contrast with the standards of white houses of the city and brown of the ostionera stone own of the old walls. In addition, we will be able to enjoy the remains of the Roman Theatre, and the back of the old and new Cathedrals. Annexing this area with the Barrio del Pópulo, the oldest in Europe, where we will discover several vestiges of Cadiz's history. Walking through its narrow streets means cultural immersion in its historical background. Another of the neighbourhoods we will pass through is La Viña, the seafaring neighbourhood that is related to its past as a place for growing grapes. Nowadays it is known for the celebration of the carnival. During the tour we will highlight the tapas bars and restaurants recommended to eat a good fried fish.

We finish the tour on the most popular beach in town, Caleta beach. From here we will remember that natural port where the Phoenician, Carthaginian and Roman ships anchored in the city. We will also see the source of inspiration that for years has served musicians and poets, and we will appreciate the old spa that today is the headquarters of the Center of Underwater Archaeology of Andalusia, the Castles of San Sebastian and Santa Catalina, and the University Campus.
