La Concepción is located in Malaga, it is considered one of the most important gardens at national level for its tropical and subtropical characteristics. In addition, its importance is known in Europe for the beauty of the corners of this site.
Its origin dates back to 1850 and was carried out by the Marquises Amalia Heredia Livermore and Jorge Loring Oyarzábal, known as the Marquises of Casa Loring. It was catalogued as historical-artistic garden a little later, concretely in the year 1943.
It can be visited by the public thanks to the work of the City Council of Malaga that conditioned this space so that it could be enjoyed by all people in 1994.
This place is composed of 23 hectares and has a garden in the center declared historical/artistic garden of 3 hectares. It is formed by a wonderful set of fountains and waterfalls together with a subtropical decoration of diverse variety. It enjoys neoclassical features.
This place becomes very special for everyone who visits it. And not only for its beauty but for the diversity of species that you can find in it. From palm trees, native plants to tropical and subtropical plants.
In the surroundings of the garden you will find the botanical garden with a wonderful set of collections of plants and natural species that have been arranged in a scientific way.
You will see some small buildings around the garden such as the Antigua Escuelita, La Casita del Jardinero, the Longiriano Museum and even a regionalist style dome with a wide view of the city.

The prices for this visit are not excessively expensive since the intention of this is that everyone can enjoy a pleasant time among plants and gardens.

The prices to visit the Garden are divided in two: ORDINARY INDIVIDUAL AND REDUCED INDIVIDUAL.
Children under 6 years old: Free (Minors must always be accompanied by an adult)
ORDINARY FOR GROUPS (More than 20 people): 4,15 € per person
REDUCED FOR GROUPS (More than 20 people): 2,05 € per person
As we have said before, the City Council of Malaga has tried to make it so that everyone can visit this place. Therefore, we are going to show you a free schedule so that you also have this information.
Sundays between October 1st and March 31st, from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Sundays between April 1 and September 30, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day): 7.50 ¤ admission included.

It gathers a great variety of tropical and subtropical species from different parts of the world for visitors to appreciate.
Its creators were the Marquises of Casa Loring, Jorge Loring Oyarzabal and Amalia Heredia Livermore, children of well-known businessmen who came to Spain in search of money.
The idea of realizing the garden came to them as a result of the visit to the villas, palaces, parks that the marquises made throughout Spain during seven years.
It gathers plant species from the five continents. They have been brought to the Botanical Garden for educational, informative and scientific purposes.
The garden is used as a didactic area for people who need it, both for biologists and for students who need to acquire knowledge of it.
It gathers some workshops related to the theme of the place to be able to learn in an active way about the vegetation of the place.
It has a calendar of flowering and fructification of the plants where you can consult any doubt about the plants or flowers of the place.
In 2007 the garden housed a total of 1020 plant taxa.
