Endless beaches, natural parks full of life, mountain landscapes impossible to forget, sunsets that paint the horizon …. Yes, we are talking about the province of Cadiz, but this time we encourage you to live it from another perspective: on a horse.

Those who have heard about Cadiz, know that it is a province of contrasts, so you will have infinite options when choosing a route on horseback. Therefore, the question is: Are you a sea or mountain person?

If you can’t resist the sound of the waves crashing on the beach, you have the option of a route along one of its many coast areas. The excursions along the beaches of La Barrosa, Bolonia, Valdevaqueros or Conil de la Frontera stand out.

If, on the other hand, what you are looking for is peace in the middle of nature and to disconnect, Cadiz offers various routes. Immerse yourself in nature in the Pinares de Roche or walk through the incredible Sierra de Grazalema, where you can stroll along the bank of the river Campobuche.

And if you still want more, don’t forget to visit the capital of Cadiz with our Guided Tour of the Cádiz Cathedral or our Free Tour Cadiz.

What are the best areas for horseback riding in Cadiz?

Parque Natural del Estrecho (Estrecho Natural Park)

This privileged maritime-terrestrial area is located in the extreme south of the Iberian Peninsula. Its coasts are bathed by two seas, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean, which are divided by the Strait of Gibraltar, which separates Europe from Africa. We can find both sandy beaches and steep cliffs, a contrast that makes the visit even more unique. In addition, you can visit the dune of Bolonia, declared a Natural Monument.

It also has several streams and even navigable waters, which make the itinerary even more attractive.

Sierra of Grazalema

Halfway between Cadiz and Malaga, this is one of the most abrupt mountain ranges of the Andalusian geography. Time has created canyons of great beauty and numerous caves and grottoes, which are among the most visited in Andalusia. The ancient Roman road is one of the most important routes, serving as a connection between Benaocaz and Ubrique. When you arrive to one of these villages you can take our White Villages Guided Tour. It is surprising the great variety of birds that live here, with about 136 different species.
