Cordoba is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the whole peninsula. Different cultures have passed through the city over the centuries, and all of them have left their mark on the city, from the Romans to the present day. The most visible mark is that of the Caliphate of Cordoba, a period in which the city was one of the most important in Europe.
But in addition to its rich heritage, Cordoba stands out for many other things. For example, for the joyfulness of its people, for its varied and delicious gastronomy, or for the Andalusian air you can breathe in its streets.
With this excursion you can enjoy the main attractions of Cordoba with all the comforts of an organised trip from Malaga.
The departure point will be Avenida de Andalucia, 10 in Malaga. From there the bus will head for Cordoba. Once in the Caliphate city, we will start our visit at the Roman Bridge, which has watched over the Guadalquivir River for centuries.
We will continue through the medieval Jewish quarter, through narrow streets and typical Cordovan courtyards, until we reach the synagogue, a Mudejar-style building that stands out in the Jewish quarter.
Finally, we will visit the symbol of the city of Cordoba and the most important building in the Islamic West. This is the great Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba. Its vibrant mixture of architectural styles, its infinite columns, its colourful mosaics and its beautiful stained glass windows conquer everyone who visits it.
Afterwards there will be free time for lunch and a stroll through the historic centre, with time to visit and explore other emblematic points of the city. At the end of the excursion we will return to Malaga to the same point of departure.
All the tour, except for the final free time, will be accompanied by a multilingual guide who will explain the history of the different visits to be made and who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
The excursion takes place at 08:10h and arrives back in Malaga at 18:15 approx. The bus trip will take about 2 hours, once in Cordoba we will first visit the Roman Bridge and the old Jewish quarter, then we will go to the Mosque-Cathedral, where our guide will explain in detail this wonderful architectural ensemble. Finally, we will take the bus back for another two hours to return to the meeting point. Places are limited, so book yours now and don’t miss out on this opportunity.
