Aquasierra Water Park
In Villafranca de Córdoba, around 30 minutes from Córdoba, you will find one of the most important water parks in Andalusia. It is a great choice to spend the day with the family and enjoy the facilities and attractions it offers. The opening hours for this season are from 11:30 to 20.00 h, being possible to enjoy the whole day or from 16:00h. Prices range from 0 to 14€, depending on the age and height of the participants. Cordoba’s Zoo
At Cordoba Zoo there are numerous activities for all kinds of audiences, but especially for children.
There are numerous camps for children between 6 and 12 years old. These are camps with environmental themes, which will be offered throughout the summer holidays. They will be unforgettable days for the children, who will have direct contact with the animals, always providing the greatest well-being.
Another option offered by the Zoo is to spend a night sleeping in the zoo with the animals. This activity will be available in June and July.
Finally, and one of the most interesting activities, are the workshops with lemurs. In this activity you will be able to be in the enclosure with these animals and live a unique experience with them. Children may be accompanied by family members, forming groups of between 15 and 30 participants.
Equestrian dressage show in the Royal Stables
It is a good way to teach children about the folklore of the city. Introducing them to the typical and traditional celebrations from an early age is a good way to nourish them with new knowledge. It consists of an evening show, which can be seen at 8 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday. The most popular show is undoubtedly Pasión y Duende del Caballo Andaluz.
Iberfauna
It is located in the Cordoba town of Zuheros, one of the most representative places of nature in its natural state. It will be a good opportunity for children to learn by interacting with the environment around them. Iberian wolves, foxes, wild cats, genets, birds of prey and an infinity of species can be found in the first Natural Park of these characteristics. You will also be able to see the typical flora of the area, learning about nature in its maximum splendour.
The main activity is a tour, where in addition to learning about the different species, you will be able to interact directly and observe them in their natural habitat. There will also be a workshop on recycling and renewable energies, so that children can learn to conserve this planet a little more.
To make the visit, it will be necessary to book in advance, by one of the different means offered. The duration of the visit is between 1.5 and 2 hours.
Summer Cinemas
If anything is representative of Cordoba’s summer, it is the summer cinemas. They are a very interesting cultural proposal for all kinds of audiences. The main advantage is being able to enjoy a fun film, with a soft drink, sweets and the company of the family, enjoying the cool of the summer nights in the open air. They are located in symbolic places in the city. The cinemas that are currently active are the Coliseo de San Andrés, the Cine Delicias, Fuenseca and the Cine Olimpia. The Plaza de Toros is another of the locations, where a screen and chairs are set up, as well as an ambigú for refreshments.
Although the final line-up is not yet known, the films to be screened will be of all kinds, mostly new releases.
This year there is only one session per night, which will start at 22.00h. Prices will be €3.50 from Monday to Thursday and €4.50 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The ambigú will be set up for the sale of drinks, sandwiches, snacks, popcorn, sweets, etc.
Evening picnics in parks
A very common plan is to go out for a walk, but this is complicated by the temperatures that the city offers in summer. An alternative to this would be to take your dinner with you and enjoy certain parks. El Parque de la Asomadilla and La Ciudad de los Niños would be a good option.
