What to do with your pet in Ronda?
Ronda is a town with a beautiful historic center, perfect for visiting and walking with your pet. It also offers a wide variety of nature trails that are very close to the center and where you and your dog will enjoy the open spaces. So that your escape to Ronda is possible and you only have to worry about enjoying, we bring you the accommodations, transports and restaurants in which you will be able to enter with your pet.
Hotels that accept pets in Ronda
We have found 10 accommodations (hotels, hostels, apartments or cottages) in Ronda where pets are allowed, some of them without extra payment. The first is the Catalonia Reina Victoria Hotel, with an outdoor swimming pool and magnificent views of the Tajo gorge. It has an Andalusian and Mediterranean menu and a restaurant with panoramic views that will leave you speechless.
The Catalonia Ronda has a very good rating from its customers (above a 9) and has an infinity edge swimming pool with views of the bullring. The Hotel Montelirio is located just outside the Ronda gorge and has no less than an outdoor swimming pool, a Turkish bath and incredible views of the Guadalevín River.
There are several hostels and guesthouses that also accept dogs in Ronda such as Hostal Pensión, where you will be allowed to stay with your pet at no extra cost, or Hostal Doña Carmen, a 5 minute walk from the historic centre of Ronda.

As far as rural houses are concerned, the Viviendas Turísticas Los Arrayanes should be mentioned, where you can prepare a barbecue in the heart of Ronda. The Casa Luna Ronda is very spacious, with views of the countryside and an outdoor swimming pool, a real retreat in nature! The Casa Palacio Villazambra is located 300 meters from the church Santa María la Mayor and offers a terrace with views of the city. On the other hand, Los Remedios apartments are 150 meters from the center in a perfect area for hiking and biking in nature.
What transport is allowed?
The current regulations for municipal buses in the province of Malaga allow small dogs, less than ten kilos, to go with their owners on the buses without a carrier. Another option is to ask for a taxi, in which case you will have to ask the taxi driver if he allows pets. If neither of these options convinces you, don’t worry! The historic centre of Ronda is very small and you don’t need to take any transport to visit it. Also, if you go on a nature walk, your dog will be so happy to breathe fresh air!
Where to eat with your dog in Ronda?
We recommend three places where you can eat with your dog depending on your tastes, your appetite and your budget. Here we go!
To go for tapas and eat at a good price, we recommend you the Taberna el Almacén. It is an ideal place to sit with your pet both inside and on the terrace. You’ll be amazed by the boletus croquetas (filled balls) and the pear, foie gras and walnut salad. They also have a local wine list. Accompany the tapas with a glass of Lunares, MoroSanto or Descalzos Viejos. As if that were not enough, it’s very good located! It’s right in the centre, so you have no excuse not to drop by.
For more elaborate dishes and large portions, we recommend the Mediterranean restaurant Las Maravillas. They have a very friendly service, a very varied menu and are dogfriendly. The food is spectacular and their prices match the quality of the dishes. Try the egg 120 tapa, the mussels or the assortment of croquetas, you won’t regret it!
If you want to go up a level and go to a renowned restaurant, Tragatá is a very modern place, with a mix of traditional Andalusian and contemporary style, which allows dogs to enter. Its exquisite menu has been prepared by chef Benito Gomez, who received a Michelin star in 2018. He has strived to achieve a menu that mixes traditional Andalusian flavours with the most modern cuisine, a totally new experience for the palate!
