To enjoy the city of Cadiz from the heights we must look for its famous rooftop towers, of which there are four types a garita, which are small turret-shaped constructions, with long narrow windows; on the other hand, we have the armchair, which reminds us of the shape of an armchair, a terrace that is very similar to the first one we have named, but has a dome to shelter from the cold. There are also mixed terraces, between armchair and terrace.
We are going to give you some options that you can visit, but surely if you go walking around the city you will find many lookout points to enjoy its fantastic views.

It is located in Marqués del Real Tesoro street, in the center of the city, very close to a central market, which since 1778 has been considered a watchtower of the port of Cadiz.
It has a camera obscura, which was inaugurated in 1994, has an optical system where it is shown on a circular white screen the scenes that occur outside in real time.
This terrace is considered the best viewpoint of the city of Cadiz, as it has 360 degree views.
Its opening hours are from October – April, from 10:00 a.m – 18:00 hours; and from May – September, from 10:00 a.m – 20:00 hours. The maximum duration of the visit is 45 minutes.
The only days it is not open are December 25, January 1 and 6.
The normal rate is 7 euros, but for seniors over 65 years, students with their card, large families, groups of more than 10 people or people with disabilities is 5`50 euros.
Reservations can be made through a contact phone or Whatsapp, since it is necessary to make a reservation to enjoy this viewpoint, due to its reduced capacity.
The most famous tower of the Cathedral of Cadiz, this clock is from the mid-nineteenth century, by José Miguel de Zugasti, which gives its name to this crenellated tower, which has this viewpoint at the top, framed between cornices and semicircular windows paired on all its fronts.
Beware of the time of the chimes, which are usually every fifteen minutes and can scare you with its strength.
Its opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m – 16:30 hours.
The general rates are 6 euros, for people who are pensioners it goes down to 5 euros, for students under 25 years old and a group over 20 people it is 4 euros. For children under 12 years the entrance is completely free.
This ticket includes a visit to the Cathedral, the Choir, the Crypt and the Cathedral Museum.
It has one of the best viewpoints in the city, as it is located in front of the door of the Cathedral, with a terrace viewpoint to which everyone can access, except the pool that is only for the use of guests.
It is perfect for a drink while watching the beautiful views it offers, either with friends or with your partner or family.
The creation of the new Rectorate within the University of Cadiz has given rise to open to the public the tower of the building, being able to see the views of the Bay from this tower and from the roof of the Reina Sofia.
It is necessary to form small groups of people to enjoy the views, as it is a smaller space than the others.
The promenade offers idyllic images of the beaches, but in this balcony that is located on the beach of Santa Maria del Mar, has a watchtower where you can see a clear image of the coast and the Campo del Sur.
In the realization of the sports courts, the City Council created a viewpoint on the roof of this building, overlooking the beach and San Fernando, if the day is quite clean and clear.
We can`t say that it is a viewpoint as such because it does not have that feature, but they are one of the most photographed views of Cadiz, being able to enjoy as many times as you want and be as long as you want admiring it.
It has the best sunsets, being able to see the changing colors of the Cathedral with the sound of the waves breaking in the background, a magical and perfect moment.
