Jerez is history, culture and, above all, a lot of humour. With this tour you will travel through the history of Jerez, from the Muslim period, through the Christian conquest and the industrial revolution. Get to know the history and customs of the people of Jerez and learn about their traditions and their way of life.
We will start our visit in the heart of the city, the Plaza del Arenal. We will walk along the walls of the old Alcazar, a fortification where kings and important historical figures stayed. From here, we will continue to the Cathedral of Jerez, located in the Plaza de la Encarnación. Known as San Salvador, it combines different styles, and its bell tower is separate from the rest of the building, as it is an old Muslim minaret.
We will walk through the squares of La Asunción and La Yerba until we reach the Plaza Arroyo, where stately houses and palaces stand. We will also discover the history of the Cabildo Viejo, the Town Hall or the outstanding Church of San Dionisio, as well as other buildings worthy of mention.
In addition to these emblematic points, we will walk along Consistorio Street, until we reach the Chapel of the Lord of the Royal Gate. We will also learn about the Games of Bulls and Reeds and the Alcancia, moving on to the famous building of the Blue Rooster, where we will learn the reason for its name. The whole tour will be marked by the history and culture of Jerez, which make this city and all its corners unique. The tour will start every day at 10:30h or 19:30h in Spanish. We will visit the most important points of Jerez for 2 hours, while we learn about this city and all it has to offer from our guide.

The Free Tour is free, so there is no set price. We prefer that you determine the price of the tour once it is finished, depending on the guide’s effort and your satisfaction at the end of the route.
