The Origin of the Restaurant’s Name

The name of this restaurant came from the famous roman garum. A sauce with a Greek origin that dates from the IV B.C. century, it was used and brought to fame by the Romans. This sauce it was made from the viscera of fatty fish (like the mackerel), which were put in brine and macerated in the sun.

This sauce had the main used of cleaning up the taste of the meat in poor condition. This is because at that time the maintenance of food was much more difficult to carry out successfully than today because we have our own refrigeration systems at home. In roman period just the people with the best positions could afford fresh food so the use of this sauce for hiding the poor condition it was popular to a large extend.

In spite of his name, in this restaurant the authentic garum is not served. The food of this Garum restaurant is characterized by having typical flavours of the Cordoba gastronomy applied to the modern cuisine, serving their dishes mostly as tapas. The restaurant has a daily menu, a tasting menu and a children’s menu for the little ones. Although they’re closed on Wednesdays, every other days of the week you can go to enjoy their fantastic food and their incredible traditional flavours.

The timing of the kitchen is from 12pm till 12am, allowing the client pass by any time without any problem with a flexible and complete timing.

With a kitchen as unique as this restaurant, the convenience of its position (close to Mosque and Jewish quarter), and its fantastic avant-garde and informal decoration that will help you to relax after a day of sightseeing in the city, the restaurant garum is one of the most famous and recommended to enter the world of typical cuisine without losing the quality and uniqueness of modern cuisine.
