All the Equestrian Centres in Granada

There is a long horse-riding tradition in Granada. It has a wide variety of equestrian centres throughout the province. Many of them are dedicated to preparing riders for competitions and horse care. “El Centro hípico de Granada” (equestrian centre) also offers a calendar of events such as dressage and show jumping competitions. These are very entertaining events that you will enjoy a lot, even if the equestrian world is not your passion. You can consult this calendar and all the information that you need by clicking here.

If you are not a big fan of horses and horse riding in general, you can enjoy our Alhambra Guided Tour in Granada, while your friends do one of these routes, with a simple click just below.

We can also find other types of equestrian centres in Granada, that are not dedicated to professional dressage as we have seen above. For example, Rancho Esperanza is dedicated to preparing horse riding routes. It also offers lessons for beginners from people older than three years. They are ideal for a first contact before starting the route, and if you discover that horse riding is your passion, this could be your first step. They have a wide range of options which you can consult by clicking here.

Granada has a large selection of equestrian centres in addition to those already mentioned. For example, we can visit the “Centro Hípico Nevada“, located on Calle Ramal del Molino, Polígono 2. We can also visit the “Centro Ecuestre La Zubia“, located on Carretera de La Zubia, Polígono 3.

What are the best areas for horse riding in Granada and what are their prices?

In Andalusia we are lucky to have AGETREA, Andalusia’s association of rural and equestrian tourism, which offers us all the information we may need about equestrian tourism in Andalusia and, of course, also in Granada. We have selected the most beautiful and interesting routes offered.

  • If you are a beginner in the equestrian world, we would recommend the Equestrian Baptism package offered by Caballo Park Horse Riding. This package includes a practical introductory lesson and a ride on horseback. The length is approximately 2 hours and the price is 25 euros. They also offer routes for those with a little more experience, such as the circular route “Bosque Encantado”, through the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. It costs 40 euros and lasts 2 hours. After an exciting horseback ride, anyone can work up an appetite, especially in Andalusia, a land with a famous gastronomic tradition, so we invite you to discover the best places to have lunch in Granada at a reasonable price.
  • In Rancho Esperanza, apart from the lessons, they also offer personalised routes. If you call a week in advance, they will organise a route adapted to your level of experience and availability. They offer routes of one hour, 25 euros, 3-4 hours, 40 euros, and, finally, routes of 6-7 hours, 60 euros, the latest recommended for people with some experience and not suitable for children under 12 years old. In Granada, you can also find a wide variety of activities for younger children, so that everyone can enjoy the trip to the full. All these routes go through tourist interest sites such as: The Natural Park of Sierra Nevada, offering the possibility to make some night tours.

  • The company Cabacci offers routes and short rides for beginners as well as for more experienced riders. The route “Playa del Playazo” is a route for beginners with a duration of one hour and a half. It runs through the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. We will visit emblematic places such as San Ramón’s castle, the tower of the wolves, the valley of Rodalquilar and we will finish with the impressive views of the Playazo beach.
  • Cortijo las Encinillas offers different routes in Granada and, above all, in the Sierra Nevada. It offers routes for both, beginners and experts. They also offer 2-hour rides for 80 euros, 4-hour rides for 150 euros, and a full day on horseback (about 6 hours) for 180 euros. They also include the possibility of spending a whole weekend on horseback, Saturday and Sunday with lunch included, for 280 euros. For more information click here.
